Autism

Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) are a diverse group of conditions. They are characterized by some degree of difficulty with social interaction and communication.

While autism cannot be prevented, you can take steps to lower the risk of having a baby with the condition.

    • Struggles with forming and maintaining relationships.

  • Communication Difficulties:

    • Delayed speech development or lack of verbal communication.

    • Repetitive language or echolalia (repeating words or phrases).

  • Restricted or Repetitive Behaviors:

    • Repetitive movements (e.g., hand-flapping, rocking).

    • Insistence on routines and resistance to change.

    • Intense focus on specific interests or topics.
